Prevent Cancer in Your Dog

A healthy body begins with a healthy living environment. Today, cancer is one of the greatest threats to both humans and our dogs. However what many people do not realize is that environmental issues greatly contribute to the growth of cancer. Take care within your dog’s home to make small changes that can greatly decrease your dog’s chance, as well as your own chances, of developing cancer.

Begin with your water supply. Invest in a water filter for your kitchen sink, or else a filtering water pitcher. Provide your dog with the filtered water so that he has the purest water to consume. Clean water helps to flush the body of toxins while polluted water may create more toxicity within the body. Additionally, be sure to rinse and refill your dog’s dish throughout the day to prevent stagnant water. Clean the bowl at least once daily.

Next, look at the air within your dog’s home. Open windows whenever possible to let fresh air in, and remove stale air. Consider getting an air filtration system for your home to keep things fresh and pure. Like water, polluted air can cause serious health problems for your dog while clean air can help to purify your dog’s blood and bodily systems. Use all-natural, non-toxic cleaners to keep your house clean while preventing the spread of chemicals. And think about setting house plants around your home to help further purify the air.

Lastly, work to keep stress levels low within your dog’s home. A stressed body is less likely to fight infection, so it is important to always work to decrease stress in healthy ways. Provide your dog with a high quality diet, exercise, love, and affection to keep him stress-free and healthy. When your dog is healthy, you are also able to increase your own health and well-being through contact with your dog. Together you both can work towards a cancer-free lifestyle.
