ASPCA Pet Insurance Review – Facts, Info and Advantages

The abbreviation ASPCA stands for 'American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals' and has been around for about one and half decades with unfailing dedication towards the betterment of the lives of animals in the USA. Insurance is only one branch of the many that covers prevention of cruelty towards animals.

ASPCA Pet Insurance Info and History
There are thousands of pets every year that have to be put to sleep in animal shelters because they are abandoned by their owners mostly because they cannot afford the medical bills involved. Thousands of lovable pets killed each year – such a terrible waste of life and love. The ASPCA pet insurance is meant to prevent this from happening by offering economical insurance quotes that cover a great deal of what an animal needs in the course of its life.

The ASPCA pet insurance covers even things outside the purview of health insurance such as neutering or spaying besides the regular things such vaccinations, annual check ups, dental cleaning, and emergency care. There are a few things that are excluded under the ASPCA pet insurance – and these are de-clawing, tail-docking, cropping of ears and the like – simply because this means cruelty to animals and ASPCA opposes such practices.

There is one more advantage when you purchase an ASPCA pet insurance plan – with every plan that you purchase the ASPCA gets a small percentage, which helps them continue with their wonderful work for animal rights.

Types of ASPCA Insurance Plans
There are five plans to choose from with the ASPCA pet insurance – the safety plan, the primary plan, the advantage plan, the premier plan and the sterling plan. Here the safety plan is the least expensive and the sterling plan is the most expensive. The best plan to use is probably the advantage plan because it offers not only medical coverage but also reimburses things that are directly not related to health such as spaying or neutering.

The safety plan is as the name indicates - an emergency plan whereby it covers all types of accidents including possible poisoning, attacks by other animals or insects, etc. This plan is excellent because it covers all cats and dogs without regard to their health conditions, breed or age. This insurance plan is specially formulated in such a manner so everybody who has a pet could afford it and issue one for their pets.
