Dog Food selection

The key to your dogs health is choosing the right kind of dog food. Proper nutrition is the key to dogs health, give your dog good food stuff, not only will it make their daily lives better, but chances are you will have them around much longer too.

With so many dog food products on the market today, it is not an easy choice to make, but with dog health issues becoming more and more prominent, it has never been more important to do a bit of research on your dogs food.

Many dog owners choose a commercial dog food with a reputation for being a notch above in terms of dog health ingredients, Iams, science diet and pedigree. More and more dog owners are now learning the benefits of feeding raw meat and bones to their dogs.

The most popular is known as the BARF diet (bones and raw food). Whilst this certainly take a little more dedication, several studies have shown that this type of feeding promotes better health and longer lives within our dogs.

One of the worst decisions a dog owner can make in choosing a dog food, at least in terms of dog health, is buying the cheapest available. Often you’ll save a few dollars in the pet store, only to spend twice as much at the veterinarians! Don’t start your new puppy off on puppy chow if you don’t want to deal with an adult dog who may be plagued with health problems later on it it's life.

Try talking to your veterinarian and research dog food issues, before you bring home a new puppy. Your new puppy deserves the best you can give him, therefore, don’t let dog health take a backseat to other considerations when deciding what to feed your dog.
