Puppy Health Symptoms – Own a Healthy Dog

In order to understand puppy health problems, one must know that some puppy diseases, injuries and physical ailments are serious, while others are not. A puppy good health can easily be taken care of by imbibing good habits in the puppy, and training him well. Make food habits regular, and make him exercise regularly and give him the love and attention that he needs, and he will be a healthy puppy.

Let us look at good puppy health and symptoms. All healthy puppies should have clear, bright eyes and a glossy, full coat. The skin should be clear and the most important sign of a healthy puppy is a dry nose, which is free from discharge. He should have a healthy appetite and be full of energy. The movement should be totally pain-free.

Good puppy health symptoms include encouraging the puppy to have a good and correct weight, according to the breed standards. Take the temperature of the puppy sometimes; it should be normal, which is around 100 to 101 degrees Fahrenheit. A healthy puppy is a happy puppy having a positive attitude and personality.

Vaccinations
All dog owners should be aware that puppies are born with some immunity, but with time the immunity reduces considerably. For good puppy health and symptoms vaccinations are necessary. Diseases may be hereditary and it is sometimes not possible to detect them till the dog is at least 18 months old.

Viral infections are common among dogs, vaccination can prevent many of these infections. Some infections are adenovirus, parvo, corona, rabies and distemper. But all illnesses cannot be prevented by vaccinating the dog. Hence puppy health symptoms must be watched very carefully in order to identify the problem as early as possible.

A Sick Puppy
The best person to know and recognize Puppy Health and Symptoms is the dog-owner. He sees the dog daily; he knows the quantity of food that the dog consumes, the exercise that is done by the dog and the rest taken by him. It is imperative, that the owner is aware of the Puppy Health and Symptoms. So if there is anything unusual about the dog on a certain day, it should act as a warning sign of illness. It could merely be listlessness, or loss of appetite or biting, and these signs should be taken seriously by the owners and the root cause should be found.

The early signs of sickness can easily be identified if you are familiar with the puppy health symptoms. The change could be physical or behavioral. On the physical side, the dog could be consuming an increased amount of water, whereas on the behavioral aspect, there could be a sudden change in the attitude and personality of the puppy.

All dog-owners should inform themselves about the normal working system of the dog. Then it becomes easy to judge disease symptoms, and when they occur, they should know how to care for a sick dog.
