Dog Bunk Beds - Are They Too Fancy An Idea?
The thought of buying a dog bunk bed surely must have flashed across your mind during one of your searches for the perfect dog bed. Dog owners who provide their dogs with dog bunk beds are normally people who just want to see how adorable their dogs look while they enjoy a good sleep in these beds. But no matter how adorable this bed can be, it might not always be a good choice for Fido the dog even he would love to curl himself in the bed.
In fact, we tend to design things for our pets based on the things we possess or like. For instance, there are dog beds with the draping of canopies and some other bedding decorations all of which bear a resemblance to the human beds. As such, this leads to the introduction of dog bunk beds. So what are dog bunk beds? Well, they are actually two leveled dog beds with a dog-sized ladder attached from the upper level of the bed to its lower level, thus allowing the dog to get easy access from the ground to the top bunk.
Safety Concerns
Dog bunk beds may be modeled after the things we have and look interesting, but they are rather unacceptable in terms of usage for the dogs. They do not really provide the required comfort for your beloved dog and so these bunk beds might not appeal to the pet at all. As such, you will not necessarily get to see your dog climbing up the dog bunk bed probably because the pet is more concerned about its own safety.
However, if you are very determined to get your beloved dog to learn how to appreciate such a dog bunk bed, then it is best for you to teach the dog how to use it. This personal training would include giving excessive and repeated orders to your dog, drilling into its head how to use the bed and also coaxing it to get closely acquainted to the bed. But do keep in mind that these dog bunk beds can turn into a hazardous issue if your dog is still not familiar with them or should it get too panicky.
Lastly, besides paying attention to the safety aspects when choosing a dog bunk bed, the other major point of consideration is to ensure that this bed meets the requirements of the dog. The bed must be custom-made according to the size of your dog and it must allow easy access or have plenty of room for your dog to maneuver comfortably and freely within the bed itself. So if your dog feels unsafe, this would mean the dog bunk bed is not suitable for it.
